We stand behind every website we build.

Nijher Digital helps established businesses grow through websites built as assets, not projects.

WHY THE COMPANY EXISTS

Nijher is my last name. That's not an accident.

I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I grew up watching close family members run their own businesses: the early mornings, the pride in the work, the way a reputation gets built one customer at a time. I have wanted to build something of my own since I left university.

So when it was finally time, the company name included the family name, because of what that name represents to me and what it should represent to you. When your name is on the company, your reputation is attached to every project that goes out the door. There's no hiding behind a brand. The work has to be worth signing.

The idea that started it all was simple: established businesses deserve an online presence that truly represents where the business is now, not where it was five years ago when the website was last touched.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

From WordPress roots to a Shopify mission.

Nijher Digital started with WordPress, building websites for small business owners whose sites no longer matched the quality of their actual business. Good companies, strong reputations, websites that undersold both. Fixing that never stopped being satisfying.

Along the way, right as the business was shifting toward Shopify development, I met Alex. We became friends first, comparing notes from two very different decades on the web, and the partnership grew out of that. It turned out we’d arrived at the same conviction from opposite directions: the website is the most undervalued asset most product businesses own.

Today, Nijher Digital is the two of us, pointed at one mission: helping product-based businesses grow through their website by creating a solid foundation, managing the website in the long term, and guiding and educating the business owner in the process. Not build and abandon. But build and compound.

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Your website is the one online space you truly control.

Platforms come and go. Algorithms change without warning. AI is reshaping how customers discover what they buy. Through all of it, your website is the one place on the internet that is truly yours: your rules, your customers, your asset. We believe that’s a gift, and that most businesses have been taught to treat it as an expense instead.

We also believe this: the corporate world has the budgets and the teams to execute big digital visions. We’ve both worked inside that world and seen what those resources buy. Small and mid-sized businesses have the same chance to win online, with the right people and the right knowledge beside them. Closing that gap is the reason this company exists.

How that plays out in practice is everything else you’ll read on this site: we diagnose before we prescribe, we measure the work by results and show you the work behind them, and we stay on as partners rather than handing over a finished site and disappearing.

THE PARTNERSHIP

Two builders, opposite halves of the same craft.

We're both builders first. Programming and engineering backgrounds, hands on keyboards for most of our careers, and more than 40 combined years of building for the web.

The halves are complementary. Hardeep leads strategy, SEO, content, and client relationships: the side that decides what's worth building and why. Alex leads Shopify engineering and custom development: the side that makes it real. Between us there's no gap for things to fall into, and no layer between you and the people doing the work.

HARDEEP NIJHER · CO-FOUNDER

Twelve years inside corporate IT. Now it works for you.

IBM & Aviva · 2010–2022

Java · JavaScript · HTML · CSS

Teams & digital projects

From 2010 to 2022, I worked in corporate technology at IBM and Aviva. Twelve years across the full life of a project: ideation, architecture, forming and managing teams, implementation, testing, go-live, and the long unglamorous work of maintaining live applications after the launch celebrations end.

For a good part of that career I was the one writing the code: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS. Then I moved into management, running teams, people, and projects, presenting to executives in one meeting and sitting with a developer debugging an issue in the next. I've seen how large organizations strategize, fund, implement, and maintain digital projects from the inside.

Since 2022, all of that has gone into Nijher Digital. The discipline of how big companies run technology, brought to businesses that don't have an IT department, applied to the asset that matters most: your website. I lead strategy, SEO, content, the WordPress side, and every client relationship personally.

ALEX KHOST · SHOPIFY TECHNICAL PARTNER

He's been building the web since the web had blink tags.

27 years · since 1999

Time Inc. · Meetup · Hospitality

Shopify apps & functions

Alex Khost has been building websites for 27 years, since launching his first site in 1999, back in the era of blink and marquee tags. His path in was unusual: he's a trained oil painter with a fine art degree. When the internet started leaving the command line behind, he wanted his paintings online, so he bought an HTML book at Barnes & Noble, read it on the subway during his New York commute, and built the site himself.

That portfolio grew into an online gallery showing other artists' work. Then someone admired the site, found out he'd built it, and offered to pay him to make theirs. More requests followed, and somewhere along the way the painter realized he'd become a web developer.

The 27 years since span the full spectrum of the industry: years at Time Inc. building the People and InStyle magazine sites, the early startup days of Meetup.com, close to a decade building hotel and restaurant booking sites in hospitality, and his share of startups. About four years ago he found Shopify, and it became his favorite platform of his career: accessible enough that clients can manage what they should, deep enough that an engineer can build what they need. He's spent those years going deep, and these days he builds Shopify apps too.

On every Nijher Digital engagement, Alex is the Shopify technical partner: the engineering behind the builds, the migrations, and the custom work.
